Designed in 1947 for Artes Studio, Sydney, this stylish and lightweight armchair exemplifies the refined Australian modernist aesthetic championed by Hungarian-born architect and designer George Korody.
Part of his celebrated Modern Unit Range, the chair features a sculptural coachwood frame with woven cane infill, balancing honest materials with functional beauty.

This design was later included in the award-winning exhibition The Moderns: European Designers in Sydney at the Museum of Sydney in 2017, a testament to its enduring relevance within Australian design history.

Each chair has been fully sanded and refinished in a durable hard wax oil to reveal the warmth and grain of the timber.
The cane has been newly replaced.
